In John 17:3, the inspired Apostle John stated that eternal life means knowing God and Jesus Christ. Once we become cognizant that we are in a hopeless state of darkness, we should give Christ a chance. We have struggled with our weak will, strength, and human philosophies and theories, to help. The author has spent over $350,000 on self-help courses, couches, higher education, material goods to fill a void (e.g., food addiction), and unhealthy entertainment (e.g., gambling).
Just when I was in a deep depression, a friend named Rose Lynn dared me to surrender to God and see what happens. Did, change happen right away? No. That night I poured my soul in prayers to the Lord. We started having Bible Studies, and shortly I noticed that the dark cloud was lifted up from over me. By just exercising faith on Him, the loving Jesus I once abandoned during my youth, to experience the “World of Wonder,” forgave me. First, He graced me with peace.
In a short time, I did not notice how the Holy Spirit and God’s Word was transforming me, but my oldest Sister and others noticed and remarked that I look different, sounded different, and even look younger. Started to testify I gave all glory to God. Acknowledged that I was in a dark place, but Jesus transformed me from a lost foe, into a child of God (John 1:12). I personally liked and identified with the Book of Philippians. Thanks that I applied the principles presented by the Apostle Paul, The Lord granted me a new personality. The things that grieved the Holy Spirit I stopped doing. He even helped me focus on Jesus, His Word, and eternal life, within a meaningful relationship with Him. He sharpened my mind and provided the messages of Truth I needed (Psalm 145: 15-16). The ten thousand thoughts per minute mind-chatter stopped, as I learned to nurture and care for my body, which I learned was the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Reduced the amount of sugar in the food, eliminated alcoholic beverages, balanced the menu, with the color of the rainbow, and supplemented with Vitamins (e.g., B12 (Timed Release), C, etc. helped me to remain calm and healthy.
Started to have a daily devotional and review all I knew about God: He created us and all reality in earth 1.0. Lovingly, He placed our fore parents Adam and Eve in the beautiful garden of Eden. He graced them with thousands of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains. Also, like any good father, He gave them a boundary or hedge of security, by warning them of one single tree not to partake. Unfortunately, Eve disobeyed God’s warning, after she listened to the father of lies, who used a serpent as a medium. Satan, who coveted God’s position, was crafty and effective, as Eve also induced Adam to Sin (Genesis 3). She coveted the one fruit the Creator had warned them not to eat, otherwise, they would die.
After The Fall, the personality of Adam and Eve changed and they blamed each other and God, who created the serpent. All the lies heard and spoken caused fear, mistrust of truth, anxiety, rivalry, destruction, and death. Although Adam and Eve’s disobedience may have caused some grief to Creator, God demonstrated His unmeasurable grace, love, patience, and mercy, by deploying and demonstrated through symbols, the Plan of Salvation the Father, The Son of God, and The Holy Spirit had designed, prior of creating earth 1.0.
Likewise, in nature God left some signs of hope (e.g., rose bushes may have prickly thorns, along side beauty and fragrance, to teach us hope beyond what our eyes can see, hands touch, nose smell, and our minds feel. According to my favorite author, E.G. White (1981, knowing Him Better, Review and Herald Publishing Association, Washington, DC), Nature and the Word shows God’s love. His deep desire I to bring love, hope, beauty, comfort, joy, and peace to all human beings, to nullify Satan’s sorties of accusations, shame, mental anguish, and pain that sin causes.
Both in Nature and The Word, the Lord broadcasts His love, mightiness, and plethora of acts of kindness. His ultimate desire is to have a close relationship with each of the living 7 billion world’s population. Moses in Exodus 33: 18-19 explained that God’s glory is Love.
